This workshop, conducted by Samriddhi herself, is the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of polymer clay jewelry making, even if you have no prior experience.
The workshop will last approximately 3 to 3.5 hours and will cover a wide range of techniques and topics. Students will also receive a recording of the entire session for future reference. Don't worry if you miss any part—you can revisit the workshop at your own pace.
During the workshop, Samriddhi will guide you through the following techniques:
Choosing the right clay for your projects
Leeching of clay to remove excess plasticizer
Clay conditioning for optimal workability
Color mixing to create unique shades
Managing air bubbles for a smooth finish
Two basic texturing techniques to add depth and interest to your designs
Marbling with clay using two different techniques
Terrazzo technique for creating intricate patterns
Achieving ombre gradient effects with clay
Scrap clay management to minimize waste
Cutting your own custom shapes from clay
Proper baking techniques for durable and long-lasting results
Sanding and buffing to achieve a polished finish
Adding stud posts in a secure manner
Finishing and assembly techniques
At the end of the workshop, there will be a 15-20 minute Q&A session where you can ask any questions or clarify doubts you may have. Additionally, after the workshop, you will receive a resource list for high-quality tools and materials to continue your polymer clay journey.
By participating in this workshop, you will also have the opportunity to join a WhatsApp group with other students. This group will provide a supportive community where you can share your progress, ask for advice, and engage with fellow clay enthusiasts.
To participate in the workshop, you will need the following materials:
4 to 6 colors of polymer clay from any brand
A work surface, such as a table with a glass top or ceramic tile
A convection oven with temperature control (preferably not a microwave cum convection)
1 precision cutter and a flat blade
Liquid clay
1 set of pliers
Jewelry findings, including 10 mm jump rings, stud posts, ear push, and earring hooks
Wet/dry sandpaper with grits between 400 and 2000 (4 different grits)
Cardstock paper and scissors
Sewing thread
Toothpick
Clay cutters
